Born and raised in Southern Maine, Kate grew up enjoying brief, delightful summers, fresh seafood and snow. A survivor of the Great Ice Storm of ‘98, Kate went on to attend Maine College of Art for 1 year until transferring and changing her major to the lucrative: Bachelor's in English. After years of putting that degree to good use in multiple kitchens she decided to do something that she loved that involved less heavy drinking. Her influences include mortality, the aroma of a working waterfront, and womanhood. She presently resides with her daughter Scout, ill-behaved dog and nihilist husband.
